Wayki® is an automatic covering system created and developed in Chile and is perfect for protecting cherries, kiwi and berry fruits efficiently. It is said to open and close like an umbrella!
This innovative technology offers great advantages and, when installed on Valente's pre-stressed concrete post structure, it provides a complete, effective, flexible system.
Rain covers slide along a special track and open and close whenever needed. The great advantage is that plants are able to grow mostly in the open air and covers are only needed when there is a real rain risk.
A single worker can close or open the covering of a one-hundred-meter row in less than a minute, that is to say twenty minutes for one-hectare surface.
The majority of automatic or semi-automatic systems are expensive and require more workers as well as longer opening time.
Technically speaking, the Wayki® system is operated by an electric screwdriver inserted in a device that is installed on the head poles of the Multi-shield system.
Currently Waiki® is already installed in several different geographical areas, then being exposed to a vast range of different soils and climate conditions, always getting excellent results.
